With the second quarter of 2024 behind us, Sensor Tower provides an insight into the performance of the top Film & Television applications in the US market. The unified platform data, encompassing both iOS and Android, shows interesting trends for these entertainment giants.

Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies saw a notable uptrend in weekly active users, escalating from around 800K in early April to over 1.4M by the end of June. Downloads started strong at 188K but saw a dip mid-quarter to 74K, before climbing back up to 98K. Revenue exhibited a steady climb, ending the quarter at around 44K USD.

Amazon Prime Video had a steady quarter with its revenue hovering between 600 and 820 USD weekly. The app's downloads peaked in mid-May at 132K but later settled to around 51K by late June. Weekly active users showed a mixed trend, with a peak at 488K and ending the quarter with 501K.

Disney+ experienced a surge in revenue in late June, reaching 42K USD, alongside a dramatic rise in downloads, hitting 155K. The active user count also jumped significantly from roughly 1.1M to 1.7M in the same period.

For Star+, the quarter was a rollercoaster. Revenue started at 45K USD, dipped to around 32K, and sharply dropped to 10K by the quarter's end. Downloads began at 92K, decreased throughout the quarter, and ended at a low of 1.7K. The weekly active users count saw an initial increase to 1.6M but ultimately reduced to 1.3M.

Netflix, a mainstay in the streaming world, showed a consistent revenue pattern, with numbers ranging from 3K to 5K USD weekly. Downloads saw a peak in mid-June at 57K, while active users fluctuated, ending the quarter at approximately 2.9M.
